GEOWORKS APPOINTS NEW MARKETING VICE PRESIDENT

Mobile Phone Industry Expert Joins Company's Senior Management Team

ALAMEDA, Calif. (March 31, 1998) - Geoworks (NASDAQ: GWRX), a leading provider of smart phone solutions, has named David Grannan as vice president of marketing and business development. In his new role, Grannan will aggressively investigate trends in the wireless communications industry to further establish Geoworks as a leader in the growing global personal communications market.

Grannan's expertise is backed by more than eight years' experience in the wireless industry, most recently serving as area vice president of sales and marketing at Sprint PCS.

Grannan's career in the wireless industry also includes a position with Andersen Consulting in the Communications Industry Group, where he provided strategic marketing services to leading wireless carriers.
